The Big House
A cottage with a million dollar view, the BH has a roomy kitchen with full size
refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, electric coffee maker, bread maker and an
assortment of other appliances. The
dining table comfortably seats eight.
There are full bathrooms upstairs and down, an outdoor shower and three
bedrooms—two doubles and a single. A
third downstairs room (available upon advance request) can accommodate a few
extra kids. For unexpected guests there’s
a sofa bed in the living room (there is a surcharge for more than five people).
Amenities include TV, VCR, AM/FM, CD player, cassette deck & LP turntable, as
well as a washer and dryer.
The wraparound deck, with charcoal grill, picnic table and plenty of
chairs, is perfect for outdoor dining, especially at sunset.
Architecturally the BH is unprepossessing.
Bright and cheerful inside, it’s a work in progress (and priced
accordingly). We’re gathering the
resources to paint the entire interior and completely renovate the downstairs
(the new roof and boiler repairs had priority).
But it’s furnished attractively
and comfortably, the ideal informal vacationing spot for larger families with
young children.
